Import Options
You can import ULI notification and error files in the Import section of the LLWR Processing screen.
The import processes are described below:

You can import a ULI notification file (provided by DfES) to be uploaded to the ebs database in the ULI Import section. This is in order to assign a ULI to each learner that has a LLWR record submitted.
To import a ULI notification file:
- Select the ULI Import check box.
-
Click the Browse button, and then select the required file on the Open window.
The ULI notification file is imported.
If the institution is a multi-provider, then the ULI files to import are filtered on the currently selected provider. When the LLWR process is run, the ULI values in the file is written to the relevant LLWR dataset records in the ebs database.
The ULI Import matching field institution setting on the LLWR page determines the code to be used as the matching field. The Overwrite existing ULI setting determines whether an existing ULI is overwritten with a new value.
Tracking messages output details of any records in the ULI import file that failed to be applied to LLWR dataset records. Errors will be raised in the following circumstances:
- If the provider ID in the file does not match that defined at institution details level
- If the process is unable to match a learner in the file to one in the ebs database
- If a learner to be updated already has a ULI number
- If the ULI provider has an incorrect format

You can import a .error and .xcheck error file (downloaded from DfES) to be imported and sent to the Error Surfer window in the Error Report Import section.
To import an error report import file:
- Select the Error Report Import check box.
-
Click the Browse button, and then select the required file on the Open window.
The error report import file is imported.
